General Purpose
Performs a variety of duties to monitor progress of students in various College programs. Ensures appropriate accommodations are provided to students. Facilitates delivery of curriculum on an individualized level according to needs of students. Provides ADA services to support student's performance in College programs.

Education and Experience
  • Graduation from High School or equivalent
  • Minimum of six (6) months of specialized training in related fields
  • One year of responsible experience performing ADA related duties
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have working knowledge and understanding of Federal regulations AD, 504, and IDEA
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and manage work assignments in a highly interpersonal contact environment
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals

 


Job Focus
  1. Delivers ADA services and accommodations as determined by the ADA Coordinator, and tracks outcomes.
  2. Contacts students in their programs to verify attendance, follows up on pending activities and tracks progress in accordance with the College training plan
  3. Follow up on required information and updates counseling team. Discusses services needs and options with ADA Coordinator or designee to refine and update service plans
  4. Acts as liaison between instructor and ADA coordinator and/or designee on behalf of student
  5. Effectively delivers ADA approved services in the training programs with understanding of specific program and skill requirements
  6. Acts as a student advocate and provides information, in a timely manner, to ADA Coordinator or designee regarding problems that may arise during service delivery. This may include reports of violence, drug use, and any issues that may be potentially dangerous to students, staff, or faculty, and that may violate College policy
  7. Understands and is compliant with all federal regulations governing ADA services (ADA, 504, IDEA)
  8. Communicates with and reports directly to the College ADA Coordinator and/or designee on progress of assigned students and completes service record regularly on all students served. Contributes to effectiveness of ADA Service team through effective communication and timely follow through on tasks and ADA service issues
  9. Maintains confidentiality of all student records
  10. Performs other related duties as necessary

Process

The College reports all positions to the Department of Work Force Services, posts all positions on the website: http://www.datc.edu/hr, and posts hardcopies of all announcements in the Fiscal Service area. Verification of a typing score (within last six months) if required, is accepted from the Campus Testing Center. The Davis Applied Technology College complies with all aspects of the ADA and section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
