General Purpose
Assists the program instructor in classroom management and the delivery of related training curriculum and assists students in attaining the knowledge and skills needed to complete the training program and succeed in the career for which they are training. Assists instructor and/or program as needed, up to 30 hours per week when enrollments are consistently 6-10 students above maximum per period.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of experience directly related to the area of training
- A combination of work experience and education may be used to fill this requirement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must show competence in the technical skills related to program training
- Must demonstrate ability to independently provide on-going coverage in the absence of instructor
Licenses and Certifications
- May be required to hold industry certifications relevant to the assigned program
Job Focus
- Assists with instruction of students.
- Maintains program quality when program instructor is fulfilling other job assignments.
- Models and teaches good work habits.
- Assists in the teaching use, care and safety of program equipment.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly training area.
- Assists in monitoring the use of supplies and equipment.
- Assists in setting up and maintaining program equipment.
- Works cooperatively within the College community.
- Implements curriculum as directed by the program instructor.
- Under the direction of the program instructor, verifies student competency achievement and completes necessary paperwork.
- Supports a classroom management plan consistent with the College.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing the policies and procedures of the Davis Applied Technology College.
- Participates in the evaluation process with the assigned administrator.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

The College reports all positions to the Department of Work Force Services, posts all positions on the website: http://www.datc.edu/hr, and posts hardcopies of all announcements in the Fiscal Service area. You can request a copy at the Cashiers window. Verification of a typing score (within last six months) if required, is accepted from the Campus Testing Center.
