CNA Testing Information
The CNA Test consists of two parts: a Written test, and a Skills test
CNA Written Test
You can take the written test at the DATC on a walk-in basis during our normal testing hours. The test is administered by computer and takes between 60-120 minutes to complete.
Your testing voucher and a valid photo ID must be presented in order to test. Acceptable forms of ID include a Drivers’ License, State ID, Passport, or School ID. A drivers’ privilege card cannot be accepted as ID.
Scrubs are NOT required for the written exam.
CNA Skills Test
The CNA Skills Test is given by appointment only. Online scheduling is available by clicking on the link at the end of this page.
You must have your skills testing voucher from the Utah Nurse Aide Registry before you schedule your test. If you schedule an appointment without your voucher, you will be unable to test and are liable for a $15.00 cancellation fee.
The following ARE REQUIRED when you arrive to take your test.
The Skills Test takes approximately an hour and is administered in the Skills Testing Room 2002 located on the second floor. Click here for Campus Map or Driving Directions. Please allow ample time for parking and locating the testing room. You should be seated 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Testing starts on time and cannot be interrupted
Note, you will incur a $15.00 rescheduling fee if you show up late to your appointment, are a “no show”, cancel your appointment less than 24 working hours in advance, double book an appointment, do not have the required items on the day of testing or make an appointment before receiving your voucher. If you owe a $15.00 rescheduling fee you will need to pay this fee and present the receipt to the Skills Examiner before you can test.
Appointments for the next month are generally made available during the last week of the current month. If there are no appointments available, please check back.
