Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR)
The Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) provides certification, renewal and reciprocity services for Certified Nursing Assistants. Upon completion of a state-approved training program, candidates apply for testing through the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry. The UNAR approves all prospective nursing assistant training programs, instructors and curriculum. Authority for the approval and credentialing of programs is federally and state mandated through the OBRA 1987 Federal Nursing Home Reform Act. As a result of these regulations, each of the 50 states maintains an identical certification and registry office. UNAR maintains records for over 50,000 nursing assistants and archives the State Abuse Registry.
The UNAR office is located in Room 2036 on the second floor of the College campus (north end) and can be contacted at (801) 547-9947. Testing services are provided through Student Services at Davis Applied Technology College or one of the other fourteen (14) testing sites in Utah. The UNAR office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, and closed on all federal and school holidays.
