It is the function of the Davis Applied Technology College Foundation to assist the College in accomplishing its mission of providing technical education to promote economic growth and student development.
As a 501(c)(3), the Foundation is able to secure supplemental resources and additional equipment for college use and provide tax deductible documentation to the donors. The Foundation has a primary purpose of funding scholarships for students who would not be able to attend without financial assistance. Historically, 70% to 75% of the adult students at the College are in the low to moderate income level, but desire to become economically independent.
Donors have made a tremendous difference in the educational opportunities available at the College. These gifts have provided much needed support for scholarships, equipment, materials, and expansion of programs.
Some of the donations through the Foundation have included an entrepreneurship center, culinary arts program expansion, a new manufacturing technology building and a virtual health care training center. Other donations have provided alumni scholarships, medical supplies, funding for text books and student training materials.
Many of the programs have been enhanced through the donation of equipment, software, supplies, and industry training materials.
Foundation Mission Statement
The Foundation's mission is to provide scholarships, equipment and financial support for world-class education at the Davis Applied Technology College.
Through the efforts of the Foundation, supplemental resources and additional equipment are made available to programs at the Institution. The Foundation also promotes business involvement, generates public awareness, and enlists community support.
The Foundation sponsors an annual golf tournament on the last Wednesday in July and a 5K-10K run with a 5K walk on the second Saturday in November. These events help to raise scholarship funds. The Foundation also encourages employee participation in the Employee Donation program through payroll deductions. Students can receive assistance through a “Bridge to the Future” fund which assists with the purchase of training materials. The Foundation encourages students to work through the Financial Aid Department for assistance.
