This program prepares students to take the State of Utah written and practical exam for the Esthetician and Master Esthetician licenses. Students in this program will learn about basic procedures in skin care, including the basic structure and composition of the skin and maintenance of healthy skin. They will learn the factors that influence aging of the skin and recognize which skin disorders can be treated in the salon and which should be referred to a physician. Student will also learn to perform various types of hair removal; facials; first aid and CPR; pedicures; chemical peel pedicures; basic and advanced manicures; French-tip painting; basic and advanced makeup techniques; chemical and acne facial peels; lash extensions; body treatments; LED light, manual lymphatic drainage, and modelage facials; and ultrasonic, micro current, and microderm machine techniques.
