The Phlebotomist program provides students with the required skills and knowledge to become competent phlebotomists. Students will gain an understanding of body systems and will learn how to conduct lab tests, collect specimens, and perform venipunctures. A 40-hour externship is included in the program which will allow the student to practice and develop their skills in a clinical setting.

Application Process

Verify you meet program Admissions Requirements
Complete the DATC Admissions process:
  • Complete the DATC Admissions Application
  • Pay the $40.00 fee online or to the cashier in Student Services
  • Take the Admissions Assessment in the DATC Testing Center in Student Services
  • Attend a DATC orientation (held every Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.)
Meet with an Enrollment Technician in Student Services
Start class on the assigned date:

Students can enroll any time during the previous calendar month of the course start date. For example, to enroll in the March course, students should enroll during the month of February. Start dates for the current school year are as follows:

  • Oct 10, 2011 - Dec 19, 2011 (Mon & Weds 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)
  • Jan 3, 2012 - Mar 15, 2012 (Tues & Thurs 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)
  • Mar 19, 2012 - Jun 4, 2012 (Mon & Weds 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)

During 2012/2013, we anticipate offering classes in July 2012, October 2012, January 2013, and April 2013.
