Requirements:

Visual Gestural Communication is a major aspect of ASL.  ASL is a visual-gestural language requiring frequent interaction with the instructor, classmates, and members of the Deaf community.  As such, attendance is required.  Frequent absences or tardiness will affect your learning and impact your grade, possibly requiring you to retake the course.

There is a "no-voiciing" policy in all ASL courses offered at DATC.  This may seem intimidating at first, but you will learn much more quickly and effectively by adhering to this rule.
