Dental Assisting

This program is accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation. The dental assistant assists the dentist in treating patients, setting up instrument trays, sterilizing instruments and equipment, exposing and developing dental radiographs, scheduling appointments, and completing insurance forms after course work. Students are required to complete a 300-hour, non-paid externship by working in two different dental settings. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the Dental Assisting Certification Exam administered by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB).
