Emergency Medical Technician

Training in these programs prepares individuals to be responsible for the administration of specialized emergency care and the transportation of victims of acute illness or injury to a medical facility using life support skills. Applicants must be 18 years of age, be CPR certified, present a valid driver's license and another form of ID (2-7/8 x 1-1/8 inch or 1-1/4 x 1-1/2 inch full-faced photographs) and provide TB test results. Student must be able to pass a background criminal investigation and provide two sets of fingerprints to the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (BEMS). Continuing Medical Education (CME) classes are offered in 4, 8, 12, 16, and 25 hour blocks to assist with recertification requirements for EMT and EMS workers. Students desiring further training as a paramedic should register at Weber State University by calling (801) 626-6521. A portion of the paramedic class is taught on the Davis Applied Technology College Campus.
