Medical Assistant

The Medical Assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (AAME). This CAAHEP accreditation allows students to sit for the national AAMA certification exam. The Medical Assisting program's comprehensive training includes classroom work, hands-on skill practice and an externship. Upon completion of the core courses, the student completes a 300-hour, non-paid externship in a medical office. A medical assistant's duties include administrative tasks and back office clinical tasks.
