Nurse Assistant

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is an important part of the health care team directly involved with “hands-on” patient care of the sick and elderly. The Nurse Assisting program prepares students to become Certified Nursing Assistants. Once certified, students may gain employment in many healthcare areas including hospitals, long-term care facilities, in-home care, physical therapy, hospice and doctors’ offices.

In this program, students learn how to provide and demonstrate personal care, record vital signs, measure height and weight, and restorative services. They care for cognitively impaired residents, work with mental health issues, and are trained in CPR.
