Pharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Technician program is designed to prepare individuals to support pharmacists in a pharmacy setting. This includes performing a wide range of practice-related duties for retail, hospital, home care, mail-order and other pharmacies. Students will recognize the top medications, dosage forms and uses, fill prescriptions for patients, and prepare IV medications. Students will also participate in a 180-hour clinical externship in a pharmacy.
Upon completion, students will be prepared to take the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Examination and the State of Utah Pharmacy Technician examination to obtain licensure from the State of Utah.
