Practical Nurse

This program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). The purpose of the Practical Nursing Program at the Davis Applied Technology College is to prepare the graduate to function at the first level of nursing in a multitude of health care settings. Classroom theory is provided concurrently with a variety of clinical practice situations. Graduates will also be prepared to move directly into the next educational level of nursing, the Associate Degree. All applicants must meet the following application and selection criteria:

  • Application periods: November 1 - February 14 and April 1 - June 15
  • Nursing application fee: $35 ( Non-refundable)
  • Overall 3.0 GPA (If you have 15 credits of College work, GPA will be computed from college grades. If not, high school transcripts will be used.)
  • Applications are evaluated by the Nursing Program Admission Committee.
  • A point system is used to facilitate candidate selection (see web site for more details).
  • Courses in progress will not be used in the evaluation process.
  • Prerequisite and support courses must be completed with a "C" grade or better.
  • Acceptance is not guaranteed.
