Surgical Technology Application Process
Applications for the Surgical Technology Program are accepted 3 times per year, in April, August, and December. For the exact dates, you may call the program instructor or student services.
In order to be eligible for application into the Surgical Technology Program, students must:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be an approved, second-semester high school Senior. |

Have documentation of prior experience or education in the health care field that is “patient care” related, such as Nurse Aide, Medical Assisting, or EMT. Prospective students that are completing the Nurse Aide Course are required to take and pass the state certification written and skills exams. (If you have questions about whether or not your education or experience meets the application requirements, please contact the program instructor). |

Complete the DATC registration/enrollment process and attend DATC general orientation. Orientations are held every Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. |

Take and pass any required enrollment exams or provide appropriate transcripts. |

Meet with a DATC enrollment counselor to receive a program application packet. |

Complete the program application packet and turn it in during the week that applications are being accepted. Applications must be turned into Student Services prior to 4:30pm on Friday of that week. Applications submitted later than 4:30pm on Friday will not be accepted. |
