Cosmetology

Cosmetology program covers the basic principles of Cosmetology Sciences such as infection control, anatomy and physiology, basic chemistry and electricity; Hair Care such as properties of the scalp, shampoo, rinsing, conditioning, haircutting, hair design, hairstyling, braiding and braid extension, wigs and hair enhancements, chemical texture services, hair coloring; Skin Care such as histology of the skin, hair removal, facials and facial make-up; Nail Care such as nail and skin disorders, manicures, pedicures, electric filing, nail tips, nail wraps, acrylic nails, and creative touch.

Students are kept up-to-date with the newest techniques, products and equipment. To obtain a Cosmetology License, a student must complete the 2,000 hour course and pass the State Exam. To obtain a Nail Tech License, a student must complete the 300 hour course and pass the State Exam.

PUBLIC SERVICES
The Cosmetology program is open Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 9:00 pm, and Fridays 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. To make an appointment, please call (801) 593-2401.
