I plan to start my own welding company.
SSS - Bradley Davis

Brad's passion for welding was brought about by the example of his family members. His older brother Ron encouraged Bradley to obtain an education in welding and follow in his footsteps to be a welding inspector. And his father owned a welding business for approximately 20 years. When he was just a child, his father asked one day, ‘What would you rather do when you go to school? Sit and play with books or go to school and play with fire?' However, being a welder is not all fun and games. When asked how many times he had burned himself, Bradley stated that he's had 3rd degree burns all around his back. "A lot of people don't get into [welding] because they're afraid of it. I'm not scared of it. I love fire. You can't be a good welder if you're afraid of fire."

Bradley has had some big shoes to fill, so to make his brother and late father proud, Bradley turned to the DATC's welding program to obtain knowledge and hands-on training in the field. "I am trying to top out my dad and I've already gotten further than my dad who owned Bonneville Welding for approximately 20 years." Bradley has been very successful at the DATC. He has accelerated through the program and has passed off various types of welds before many of his peers, who attend school full-time. His goal is to not have regrets or waste any time.

He hopes to finish the program by the spring and then start his own business doing ornamental stainless steel aluminum welding. Eventually, Bradley would like to work in the space program as a welder. "There are things that are so complex and hard to weld, but I would want it to go into space because of me. I am all about quality and perfection."
