Welcome to DATC's Summer Camps

DATC Summer Camps are an amazing opportunity for 9th-12th Graders to explore exciting careers in Utah! The cost to attend summer programs is $40 per person, and you can enroll in as many courses as you want. Registration opens June 6, 2014. Classes are limited so register as soon as possible. The classes will be scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis.

Become a Microsoft Office Specialist

Demonstrate that you have the skills needed to get the most out of Microsoft Office by earning a Microsoft Office Specialist certification in a specific Office program. Get certified in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access. Learn the skills needed to get the most out of Microsoft Office by earning a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification in one of the following applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook or Access.
Limit 16 students.

Sessions:
August 11-22, M-F 8AM-11AM or 12PM-3PM
(Additional $25 fee for MOS Certification test)

Build a Bridge

Learn the fundamentals of building a bridge with composite materials. This course will teach you to use non-vacuum and vacuum bag fabrication. Then we will test your bridge to see if it can hold up to 300 pounds of pressure.
Limit 20 students

Automate a Robotic Arm

Students learn to use basic mechanical and electrical principles to design, automate and program a robotic arm that would be used in industrial automation. The course focuses on a hands-on approach to learning and is appropriate for students of any experience level in automation from beginner to advanced.
Limit 10 students

Course taught at Freeport West Campus

Solder Copper Joints & Install Water Systems

This will be a hands-on training experience with introductions to plumbing systems and plumbing fixtures. The plumbing industry is growing and new plumbers are needed. You will learn how to install water systems, how to solder a copper joint and set standard plumbing fixtures in our college mock up stations. You’re sure to have a great time.
Limit 12 students

August 11-15, M-F 8AM-11AM or 12PM-3PM

CNA in the Summer

Get CNA certified in 99 hours. Learn the fundamentals of Patient/Resident care, basic Anatomy & Physiology, Vital Signs, and CPR certification. The last 24 hours is a clinical externship at a Long Term Care Facility. Must be 16 years of age or older to register.
Limit 30 students

Session: July 21-August 21, M-Th 9AM-1PM
(Additional $44 for workbook and Nursing Assistant packet at the bookstore.)
